e-Sword 10.0.0

e-Sword 10.0.0 was released on 28 October, just after lunch.

e-Sword 10.0.1 was released between six and eight hours later.

e-Sword 10.0.2 was released on 31 October 2011.

e-Sword 10.0.3 was released on 2 November 2011 at around

The major enhancement is the new component RefX. These are topical files that have been compressed, and display in a floating frame.

From the testing I've done, the only two changes I'd like, for this specific e-Sword 10.0.4, or e-Sword 10.0.5 release, for the general user, are:
  • Restoring the STEP icon;
  • Provide a way for users to hide/display the ruler in the editing window;

The following video was made on an eMachine T2356 running Windows XP. (512 MB RAM, 3200 AMD Athalon XP chip. 1,819 e-Sword resources, 3.88 GB data.) I I do not recommend this configuration for normal, daily use. This is part of my stress test of e-Sword 10.0.1. Things that ought to break, perform poorly, or otherwise be used to show potential points of failure.

It is to large to directly show in the blog. :(

Thanks for pointing out that the STEP reader is gone. I hadn't noticed. I have 711 items that I now need to find a way to access. I may have some duplicates in the topic files. Sigh...

I was wrong.

The STEP component has not be removed.

The STEP icon has been removed, but STEP is still accessible through ">Tools >STEP".
